Celebrating Thanksgiving at Coats Orthodontics!

The start of the holiday season is such a beautiful transition. We begin to reflect on our actions and deeds, finding areas where we’ve improved and ways to keep it going. And on top of all of that – food! Our office is a big fan of the holiday meals and Thanksgiving is definitely a top contender.

Family is one of the first items that pop into our heads when we think of Thanksgiving, and for Dr. Coats that couldn’t be truer. For him, being at home with his girlfriend and kids is the epitome of the season. Family time, a slight chill in the air, and amazing food – the absolute best parts of the holiday!

When it comes to food, nothing beats a Southern Pecan pie for Dr. Coats, but an apple pie every year doesn’t hurt either (sorry, pumpkin!). However, it’s important to know not everyone has this opportunity, so giving thanks is a humbling way of acknowledging those who have helped you along the way.

For Dr. Coats, giving thanks is attending and volunteering at church with prayer each and every day. As we each get older, we tend to find items we are thankful for that weren’t so prevalent when we were younger. “Hopefully, as I get older, I become less sensitive, less judgmental and I take things for granted less,” explains Dr. Coats.  “I am thankful for my faith, my relationships, and my health.”

What ways will you be celebrating Thanksgiving this year? We’re eager to hear all of your plans, so be sure to indulge us next time you’re in the office!
